Sunsets, silhouettes, and perfect snogging

The magic of the cottage makes me a pure romantic. As my family will tell you, however, I am one either way. I love natural light and the mood it can set in a photo. Just looking back at these pictures makes me long for the sand and easiness of the cottage life. Can't wait till summer!

The good old days

This was one of my first photo shoots ever. Claire Wroblewski was my first model, and my only one for a while. Since then I've done lots of shoots, with lots of different models, but no one forgets their first love right? Well, she helped me fall in love with photography.

TP 101

My stance on TP-ing: it should always be done in daylight. Granted, you're more likely to be seen... but that is the basis of my argument. I want someone to watch and appreciate my work while I toilet paper someone's yard!

On to the shoot.. Jordan Komyathy (my beautiful model) and I went TP-ing. The dress moved wonderfully all through the shoot and to my surprise and pleasure, is still completely intact :)

Not just for wiping..

This is the last handmade dress in my white collection. It's made out of toilet paper, with a muslin slip I created underneath. First, I braided all the TP, and then I made the slip. I hot glued the corset of braids on, and made a larger braid for the shoulder strap. The skirt is just pieces of TP, put together to give it a flapper/fringe look. These are just the up close shots, the details :) The actual shoot with the dress is yet to come!

Point your toes

I am nearing the end of the line with my white dress shoots, but here is the most recent. Rachel Goodsir, my wonderful.. and very talented.. model, and I headed to the dance studio to play around with using a white tu-tu as a 'white dress'. Lesson learned: I should've researched more ballet terms before the photo shoot because I was throwing around things like "can you do that one super flexible thing with the leg and it goes backwards??"... I think I was a disgrace to the ballet world.

Sights to See

Next on the journey was the Golden Gate Bridge, a beach, and the Santa Cruz boardwalk. I'll let the pics speak for themselves on these ones. [NOTE: the largest donut ever was found at the boardwalk, yum, but the photo of it was not taken by me.]

Azkaban.. Alcatraz.. it's all the same

Apparently 'everyone knows what Alcatraz is'. Well, I didnt. So don't feel stupid if you didn't either. I hate when people say that.. CLEARLY not everyone knows! Anyways, we visited this prison while in San Fran. It was cold and foggy, so it set the mood for our trek through the shark infested waters that surround Alcatraz. We went through an audio tour that literally played the voices and sounds from the prisoners at the time they were there. It was very haunting, but overall, like I always say "anything for the shot". I give it an A plus on quality and quantity of items for me to shoot.
