Have you heard?

I've moved! Well... my photography has!

Go check out my new website: www.alizabethrinner.com

It was time for an upgrade.

Plus, in a few months my 'shop' section with my newest clothing line will be available for view and purchase! Wahoo!

I'll keep this blog available to view instead of transferring all my posts but from now on all new photography and posts can be viewed on my new site.

And you thought I wasn't outdoorsy...

Okay, so if you are a frequent visitor of my blog (or if you know me) you are very aware that I don't often shoot nature or landscapes: I'm simply not outdoorsy enough. Well, a few weeks ago I decided to go a liiiiiittle crazy and go off roading with some friends up in the mountains. It was on a beautiful stormy Utah day and we were literally driving in the CLOUDS. It was one of the most unique experiences of my life. Oh, and the view wasn't too bad either :) The clouds eventually got too thick for photographs as we got higher, but in the end I got what I wanted: fall colors.

Highs and Lows

This week is all about lighting! High key vs. low key. For those of you who don't know what this means... low key is all values at middle grey or lower (so lots of blacks) and high key is exactly the opposite. I am a big high key fan because I think it looks so clean! Thanks so much to my handsome models Robbie Jenkins and Kenny Adams.

Let's get muddy

FINALLY! I have completed another photoshoot I've been dreaming about doing for a while. I've been shooting so much for school and work these past few months that I haven't been doing any shoots for fun. This shoot quickly came together and was all for the enjoyment of taking pictures. Doing a shoot I want to do that doesn't have to fit any criteria or deadline is so liberating. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Props to my phenomenal model Hillary Brown. The mud was FREEZING at 7am and she modeled through it like a pro. Also a loving shout out to Enos Ledezma and Tessa Taylor by art director and assistant on the shoot!

Fall is coming!

Fall is my favorite season. Although Utah doesn't have beautiful changing leaves for 2 months, I'll settle for the 2 weeks it gives me over nothing.

Statue Beauty

While browsing through Michaels this week, for photoshoot props, I came upon a fake flower. I instantly wanted to do something a little more avant-garde with it. My beautiful model Natalie agreed to be my statue for this project and her fair skin and 'Queen Elizabeth' look ended up working perfectly. Taking natural light as my inspiration, this is what I came up with! Enjoy.

This summer's client work

The past few months I was totally burnt out from the fairy tale shoots! They took so much work to pull together I've been kind of...slacking. I went home for a few weeks and got some good client work done: family shots, senior pics, etc. Oh... and lots and lots of newborns. Did I mention I got a job a few months back at the hospital shooting babies? It's been a pretty neat experience. Anyway, I have a few fashion shoots in store, and with school starting soon I'll have plenty on here because of my photo classes :) Stay tuned.

Go ahead and hop over to my sewing blog if you want to see some pics I took of my most recent swimsuit and this gorgeous girl:

Who Let the Animals Out?

Over Memorial Day weekend I went to North Carolina with my family and visited the coolest place EVER known as Lazy 5 Ranch. It's basically a drive thru zoo where you get to feed and pet exotic animals (and take cool pics of them if you're willing to break the rules and get out of the car...)

We saw the biggest black snake I have ever encountered, almost got run over by a heard of LARGE horned bulls, and had a Zebra steal our bucket. It was a blast! If you are ever in North Carolina you have got to check this place out. My advice? Hold on to your bucket and avoid the emus. They're scary.

This guy got pretty angry at another llama we tried to feed and spit at him, it was hilarious! And a little frightening...

All the baby billy goats were running around and making the cutest noises. I want one.

Laziest kangaroo I have ever seen. He slept sprawled out and just scratched his balls.

Look at those adorable spots!

My parents weren't too happy when I got out of the car to get close enough to shoot this guy! I had a fixed lens on so I had to get close!

Don't you just wanna snuggle with her?

Devils. Do not roll your window down. Do not feed them.
